About Anita Novey
She spent 30 years with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and beginning in 1998 she served as a Drug Treatment Specialist working with adult male offenders who had substance use disorders. Before that, she worked for seven years in human resources and unit management. She left federal employment due to mandatory retirement but continues to draw on the meaningful clinical experience she gained there.
Although much of her work emphasized a cognitive-behavioral approach to addiction treatment, she also provided counseling around grief and loss as well as a wide range of relationship concerns. She has found gratification in helping people rediscover their potential and in supporting clients as they grow and regain control of their lives.
She holds a Master of Arts in Personnel and Organizational Psychology (1992) from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Business Administration (1988) from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. She is also an LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor, which reflects her formal credentialing to provide professional counseling services.

Could Remote Therapy Fit Your Needs?
Many people ask whether meeting with a therapist remotely can truly help. For a range of common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes - online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for those seeking support.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can choose the format that works best for them - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or text-based messaging - making it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule or to access care from a distance.
Licensed professionals provide these services, and clients may change therapists if they are looking for a different fit. For many people, remote sessions offer a practical and effective way to pursue therapeutic goals while maintaining a format that suits their life.
