About Jennifer McFarlin
After earning a Master of Counselor Education and a Specialist in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Florida in 2012, she completed registered intern hours at a mental health hospital where she worked with people experiencing severe mental illness. Once licensed, she served as a Primary Therapist at an eating disorder treatment center for three years, providing individual counseling as well as extensive group and family therapy for clients with disordered eating and co-occurring depression, anxiety, and OCD.
Since 2020 she has operated a private practice centered on relationship concerns and attachment patterns. She became certified in Integrated Attachment Theory in 2024 and uses that training alongside approaches such as attachment-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), mindfulness therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, somatic therapy, and systemic therapy. In her work she explores core wounds behind attachment styles and helps clients move toward more secure ways of relating.
She consistently assesses how beliefs formed in each person’s family of origin influence current behavior and relationships, and she pairs practical coping skills with efforts to address the underlying belief systems that drive symptoms. Her stated mission is to leave people better than she found them by supporting meaningful change across individual, couple, and family dynamics.

Could Remote Therapy Be a Good Fit for You?
Many people ask whether remote therapy can actually help. For a range of common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions - online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions. One of the most practical benefits is flexibility. People can connect with a therapist in whatever format fits their life best: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or text-based messaging. This variety makes it easier to maintain continuity of care when schedules are busy or travel is difficult.
Licensed professionals deliver online therapy, and clients may change therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many, remote therapy provides an accessible, effective way to work on relationships, coping skills, and personal growth with a licensed therapist.
