Jodyne(Jody) Bilstrom, LCSW

Jodyne (Jody) Bilstrom is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in Idaho with 30 years of professional social work and counseling experience. She earned a master’s degree from the University of Illinois and has spent her career working across mental health and chronic health care settings, bringing that combined perspective into her therapeutic work.

For the past decade she maintained a private practice that emphasized trauma, grief, and chronic health concerns alongside treatment for depression and anxiety. Her clinical focus also includes stress, addictions, LGBT concerns, family and intimacy-related issues, eating and sleeping problems, anger, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and coping with life changes. Additional areas of attention include abandonment, caregiver stress, chronic pain and illness, codependency, dissociation, domestic violence, and other complex presentations. She draws on evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), trauma-focused therapy, and client-centered methods to tailor treatment to each person’s needs.

Her counseling style is described as laid back and strengths-based, with an emphasis on respect, sensitivity, and compassion. She has been described as supportive and caring, and she often integrates a sense of humor into sessions where appropriate. Jodyne focuses on helping people identify and maximize their strengths to move past obstacles, and she aims to provide a space where clients can be open and honest without fear of judgment.
