About Pam Bolarinho

Pam Bolarinho, LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker), serves full time as Vice President of Acute Care Services and brings more than twenty years of social work experience across clinical support and leadership roles.

She began her career as a social worker with the Healthy Families Program and later worked for the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families before completing her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Bridgewater State University, where she represented her MSW cohort as class representative.

In addition to serving as the ESP Director for the past three years, her background includes time as Clinical Director for an inpatient psychiatric facility and more than seven years as Social Work Manager at an acute medical hospital. These roles have shaped her expertise in acute and community-based behavioral health systems.

A proud Portuguese American who immigrated to the United States at age five, she has dedicated her career to supporting vulnerable populations and collaborating with community partners. Her work has included partnerships with the Suicide Prevention Coalition, Help & Hope Southcoast, Labor & Human Trafficking initiatives, and the Opioid Taskforce.

She played an instrumental role in launching a co-response program with the local Police Department nearly three years ago, a model that has led to over 400 patients being seen in the community and has kept over sixty-five percent of those individuals at home who may otherwise have gone to a local emergency room. She has worked closely with individual providers, community agencies, local police departments, the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership, and Beacon Health Options to identify ways to divert people from using the emergency room as their first line for behavioral health needs.

Pam practices as a patient-centered, strength-based clinician and has extensive experience supporting people affected by trauma, those facing end-of-life concerns, families involved in foster care and adoption, individuals with reactive attachment disorder, older adults, and adults living with addiction and ongoing mental health conditions.

Could Remote Therapy Be a Good Fit?

Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist remotely can provide meaningful support. For many common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes - online therapy can be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.

One of the key benefits of remote care is flexibility. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that fits their schedule and comfort level - through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which can make it easier to maintain consistent care.

Licensed professionals provide these services, and if a different match is desired clients generally have the option to switch therapists. For people balancing work, family, or mobility constraints, online therapy can create more accessible pathways to ongoing support.
